'02 GMC 2500HD Extended-Cab, Short Bed I'm now the proud owner of a 2002 GMC 2500HD truck! 0% financing and factory rebates are great things, and they allowed me to get into this truck from my '01 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L for less money per month! Here's a complete run-down on the truck: *6.0L Engine *4L80E Transmission *SLE decor (power windows, locks, mirrors, CD, etc.) *Dual 6-Way Power Seats *4.10:1 gear ratio *In-Dash CD Player *Black Paint with Graphite Cloth Interior Here is the stuff that I have added so far: *UPD Induction with K&N Filter (Carry-over from the 5.3L truck) *MB Motoring MB70 16"x8" wheels *Goodyear 265/75/16 tires *Hypertech Power Programmer 3 *Black Spray-In Bedliner *Tinted Windows All Around As soon as Corsa releases their new catback exhaust system for the Chevy/GMC HD trucks, then I will add it as well. Another billet grille will be on soon, too. It will look really nice on a black truck! I wouldn't mind adding a roots-type supercharger down the road, but that will be a while. I have plans to get a 24 ft. enclosed trailer in the next year or so, and I knew that it would be a major job for the 1/2-ton Sierra to pull it. So, I was able to get into a truck that could handle the big towing duty for less cash outflow per month. You can't beat that! Towing my SS with the 18' dovetail trailer is a piece of cake with this truck. The added low-end torque of the 6.0L over the 5.3L is significant, and it shows! The truck keeps on pulling hard up hills without downshifting into third gear. I'm currently towing ~5,450 lbs. of car and trailer (5,350 lbs. when in race trim), and it's nowhere near a struggle for this truck. The 24' enclosed trailer will be quite a bit more weight, as well as wind resistence, so it will be nice to have a truck that's up to the task. |
